COVID-19 Vaccination – 4th Booster
Carroll County continues to have a low transmission rate, declining positive tests, and hospitalizations due to COVID-19. However, if you are moderately or severely immuno-compromised (have a weakened immune system), you are at increased risk of severe COVID-19 illness. As with vaccines for other diseases, you are protected best when you stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines. In addition to the first boost dose, you may now get a second boost dose if it has been at least four months since the most recent boost dose of Moderna or Pfizer.
If you are in need of a COVID-19 vaccination, or boost doses of the 3rd or 4th in the series, contact or visit Carroll County Public Health, Manning Regional Healthcare Center, McFarland Clinic, and St. Anthony Clinic, and the pharmacies of Carroll Apothecary, Hy-Vee, Lincoln Highway, Manning Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Walmart.
The free, COVID-19 self-test kits continue to be available during office hours at CCPH. You may also purchase self-test kits at various other locations across the county. If you have questions please call Carroll County Public Health at (712) 792-5279 or your personal medical provider.
Carroll County Public Health continues to remind people to wash hand frequently and contain sneezes and coughs. If you are experiencing respiratory symptoms or have a known exposure to COVID-19, you should wear a mask when around others, especially the elderly or immuno-compromised.
